The purpose of the symposium is to gather members of the multidisciplinary team
who work with the obese patient to learn about the latest developments and
research in bariatric surgery.
This meeting provides great opportunity to share
deep knowledge and best practice experiences with other colleagues in this field.
Both large plenary sessions as well as round table discussions targeted for each
specific professional group represented will be on the agenda.
All members of the
team will have plenty of chances to meet with their counterparts from other centers
to discuss subjects of specific interest related to their area of expertise.
Here are a few examples of topics that have been addressed previous years:
- Patient stories
- Nutritional deficiencies
- Psychosocial aspects
- Operation techniques and outcomes
- National and European Guidelines for obesity surgery
- Patient education pre- and post operation
